It started as a spin-off of a past Buck Model, the 418 Vertex. It is designed for an EDC, or everyday carry, knife user who wants a premium knife (materials, blade steel) in a small, unobtrusive, light weight package that is not intimidating. It fits into offices, hiking packs, and any where else people may be uncomfortable around a bigger, “scarier” knife. It’s perfect for all your everyday tasks.

With the smaller profile, the large thumb hole allows for easy, one-hand opening while the frame lock secures the blade during use. The Budgie is named after a small bird. This small, lightweight knife has a stubby, drop point blade that resembles the beak of the bird.
